By Mail: We accept checks via postal mail. Our office address is  4245 Fairfax Drive, Suite 650 Arlington, VA 22203 Any checks postmarked by December 31, 2025 will count as gifts made in 2025

Online: Put your gift work even faster by making a donation on our website. You will receive a donation receipt in your email.

Donate Your Car: Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes program allow individuals to donate their cars, RVs, boat, and other vehicles to Habitat for Humanity. Vehicles are auctioned or sold and affiliates receive a portion of sales proceeds. All you need is a title and the keys! Visit carsforhomes.org to get started.

Donor Advised Funds: With the help of a financial institution, donors dedicate certain amounts of money in that account to charities. If you have a DAF set up, consider giving a gift to Habitat DC-NOVA to support our work in DC and NOVA!

IRA: For individuals who are 70.5 or older, donations can be made from traditional or Roth IRA directly to a qualified charity. This transfer allows the gift to be excluded from the donor’s taxable income. The donation must come directly from the IRA administrators.

Stock: Individuals can donate shares of stocks to charity directly by selling the shares. There are also tax benefits for the donor if the stock has capital gains, they can avoid paying the capital gains tax. NAP: Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) allows donors to receive a VA state tax credit when they donate to a local charity. This program only applies to Northern Virginia residents. Donation must be at least $500, and we offer a 50% credit

Company Match: Many companies match donations from their employees. Some people submit their match directly or through our program double the donation, which prompts donors to include their company name when donating online
