Habitat DC-NOVA statement on the recently passed RFK stadium deal in the District of Columbia
Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia has long been a community partner in Ward 7, with a history of building a total of 89 affordable ownership opportunities and an upcoming project that will add 17 additional homeownership opportunities for local families. Habitat DC-NOVA supported transforming the underutilized RFK campus into a mixed-use neighborhood that would contribute to investment and growth in Ward 7. We are hopeful that there will be effective economic development, enforcements on commitments made to affordable housing, and green space, along with other community benefits. We look forward to working with partners to making sure that meaningful incentives are created to spur commercial development and housing.
