Hello,
My name is Tilwanna and it is truly an honor to write to you. Not as a real estate expert or a season investor but as someone who recently crossed a personal milestone when I became a first-time homeowner. After purchasing a home in the Skyland neighborhood, I am proud to be a first-generation homeowner. For many of us, owning a home isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about building a foundation not just for ourselves, but for our families, our futures, and our communities. It’s about planting roots, creating memories, and finally having a space that reflects who we are.
I’ll be honest, this journey wasn’t easy but with the support of the Habitat staff assisting me every step of the way, my dream has been made a reality. Through it all, I learned something powerful: that dreams don’t just happen. They’re built one step, one sacrifice, one leap of faith at a time. Becoming a homeowner has taught me resilience, patience, and the beauty of believing in something bigger than myself.
It’s a reminder that no matter where we start, we all have the power to shape our own stories. So this year, I celebrate not just my new home, but the journey that brought me there- and the journeys each of you are on. Whether you’re just beginning, halfway there, or already settled in your dream space… know this: every step forward matters. Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
Here’s to new beginnings, strong foundations, and the courage to build the life we deserve.
