Don Stack has more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership and volunteer experience focused on affordable housing, humanitarian service, and disaster relief. He has served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. & Northern Virginia since 2014 and served as Board Chair from 2019 to 2024, helping guide the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and the merger of the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia affiliates.

Don’s involvement with Habitat began in 2002 and has ranged from building homes alongside local families and volunteers to affordable-housing advocacy, board leadership, donor engagement, and extensive international service. He has participated in more than 20 Habitat builds and service trips across five continents, including leading volunteer teams in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Cambodia. He has also advocated for affordable housing and national-service programs at the local, state, federal, and international levels.

Beyond Habitat, Don has supported disaster and community response as a volunteer with World Central Kitchen and previously with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. Professionally, he works in operations and workforce leadership, with experience in financial management, strategic planning, organizational change, analytics, and leading large-scale workforce initiatives.
