Mel first started at Habitat DC-NOVA in August 2023 under the AmeriCorps Program as a Resource Development VISTA serving a one-year term. This VISTA term allowed her to create the Procurement Coordinator position for the affiliate and try new programs and strategies to cultivate the ReStore donation avenues. Through outreach and corporate donation prospecting she has helped to promote the ReStore as a valuable resource and donation opportunity. After the AmeriCorps term ended in August of 2024, she was hired on to continue in the position of Procurement Coordinator. Mel has continued to enjoy networking in the DMV and spreading Habitat’s mission, one that she holds near and dear as she continues to serve in this role today.
