Featuring Teresa Hamm Modley, VMDO Architects, Giuls Kunkel, BGO, Oscar Macció, Hamel Builders, and moderated by Nick Burger, DC Department of Energy and Environment, panelists shared what inspired their work and their partnership with Habitat DC-NOVA. These building industry experts shared lessons learned from their early days and discussed how to scale sustainable practices for impact in affordable housing. Panelists wrapped up by exploring the future of sustainable building in housing.

Our second panel featuring Prudence Ferreira, Thornton Tomasetti, Matt Fine, Peabody Fine Architects, Dan Hines, Kelly Renaud, and Michael Spotts, Habitat DC-NOVA and moderated by Nick Burger reflected on sustainable building in practice. Panelists shared how and why sustainability is embedded in Habitat DC-NOVA’s approach by highlighting both past achievements and current developments. In addition, panelists discussed the importance of working with local, city, and state governments to achieve their goals.
