In-Person Homebuyer Information Session
Location: 4245 N Fairfax Drive Suite 650 Arlington, VA 22203
Join our in-person Homebuyer Information Session at our office in Arlington from 6:00–7:00 PM to learn about Habitat’s homeownership program, eligibility requirements, the application process, and upcoming housing opportunities. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the path to affordable homeownership.
From 5-6PM we will offer application support for anyone working on an application. Please note that you cannot start an application until you have completed a Homebuyer Information Session and seen the home for which you are applying.

HABI-CHAT: Homebuyer 101 for Young Professionals & Taco Tuesday!
Location: 1606 20th St NW, Washington, D.C. 20009
Join us at Mission in Dupont Circle for a free information session for individuals interested in the homebuying process, need-to-knows, tips to access affordable housing opportunities, and more. The session is lead by Atlantic Union Bank in partnership with Habitat DCNOVA’s Young Professionals group. Following the event, there will be open networking and the option to purchase food and drinks.
Please note: This event is independent of Habitat DC-NOVA’s First-Time Homebuyer information session, which is part of our Homeownership Program. HABI-CHAT is designed to give participants a basic understanding of how to purchase a home on the open market.

Bishop’s Events Mount Vernon Park 5k & 10k
Location: Mount Vernon District Park- 2017 Belle View Blvd
Come enjoy this scenic race at Mount Vernon District Park through the trails! The 5k is two laps and the 10k is four laps of the route. Walkers are welcome to attend this event. We now offer a virtual run option for those who cannot make it on race day. Find more information about our virtual option on our Virtual Races page.
10k – 7:45am : $45, until Aug 31 ($50)
5k – 8am : $30, until Aug 31 ($35)
***Price will increase on race morning by $5 for each distance
T-shirts guaranteed to runners registered before Aug 26. We will order extra t-shirts for those who register after that date, but it is on a first-come first-served basis.

Led by Habitat DC-NOVA’s Young Professionals group, supported and guided by Habitat DC-NOVA staff members, this inaugural Affordable Housing Action Summit will engage, empower and activate young professionals and students into affordable housing advocates and community leaders by increasing awareness, education and training during a mini-conference event .It will also present many networking opportunities for younger professionals to connect with housing field experts!

Interfaith Dialogue Kickoff
Location: Lyon Park Community Center
Join us at the Interfaith Dialogue Kickoff event in Lyon Park Community Center. At this event, we will welcome Rev. Terrance Gattis, Habitat International’s Global Chaplain, to speak to the history of Habitat joining with faith communities to build affordable housing. Then, led by the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington (IFC), we will explore our different faith beliefs and how they encourage us to get involved with affordable housing issues in our area.
