What is Monthly Giving Awareness Week? In 2025, a collection of non-profits launched Monthly Giving Awareness Week, a week dedicated to celebrating and growing recurring giving programs. Monthly Giving is crucial to the sustainability of many non-profits and allows our work to continue uninterrupted throughout the year. In addition to providing sustainability throughout the year, most monthly donors give to an organization for almost 8 years.
Habitat DC-NOVA currently has a monthly giving program, The Steady Level Giving Circle, which generates nearly $20,000 a month. These funds are critical in making sure we meet construction timelines and help support operational needs at the affiliate. In addition to a dedicated point of contact, Steady Level Circle members receive invitations to groundbreakings & ribbon-cuttings, volunteer opportunities, and more! If you want to become a member of the Steady Level Giving Circle, we accept a variety of payment forms and you can set up your donation to automatically process each month so you don’t have to think about it each month.
Despite the strengths of monthly giving, the data shows that for most nonprofits, only 4% of their donors are giving on a recurring basis. Additionally, many nonprofits have no new donors join a recurring program throughout the year. However, we still believe in the power of monthly donors and the impact they can make.
