Hello Steady Level Friends,
November has arrived! October was another great month at Habitat DC-NOVA, including our Women Build+ Luncheon and Young Professionals Affordable Housing Action Summitt. As we gear up for the end of the year, we are so thankful for your continuous support. With over 100 homes in our pipeline, we cannot do this without you!
At the beginning of the month, our Habitat Young Professionals gathered industry professionals, curious students, and more to discuss the current state of affordable housing. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of affordable housing and the tools to become advocates and leaders in their communities, along with new connections to experts working in the housing field.
Habitat Young Professionals also hosted their annual fundraising get-together, Pumpkinfest! Members of the young professionals gathered with friends and prospects to carve pumpkins and share a drink. Attendees also took place in a raffle contest with prizes donated from partners and Habitat swag.
We also hosted our Women Build+ Luncheon and Panel featuring Alanna McCargo and Samia Byrd with our President and CEO, Susanne Slater to discuss the current policies affecting affordable housing and the importance of partnerships between the private, public, and non-profit sector. Women Build+ is more than halfway to goal, with many groups still scheduled this year and next.
We are gearing up for the end of the year and we are so excited for next year, as we continue with our pipeline. Thank you so much for your commitment to our mission.
