Hello monthly donors,
A busy month wrapped up at Habitat DC-NOVA this past weekend. Thanks to the good weather and eager volunteers, we’ve continued to make great progress on our 55th street site. The foundations and framing are complete for four townhomes while volunteers continue to frame the next two. We hope to begin laying the foundation for townhomes seven and eight soon!
We also hosted a volunteer appreciation event at our Alexandria ReStore to show gratitude for all the hard work volunteers do at the ReStore. Our marketing associate Chaz grilled some hot dogs and burgers while volunteers mingled and received raffle prizes. We cannot run our ReStores without volunteers!
Habitat DC-NOVA was also thrilled to participate in Habitat Internationals 50th Anniversary celebration in partnership with Lowes. On July 25th, nearly 25 affiliates across the country gathered in Lowes parking lots to further the community impact of Habitat’s mission. In addition to a door signing and apron signing station, volunteers participated in chair and birdhouse builds. We are so thankful for Lowes longtime support of Habitat for Humanity.
